1. What is a Park Model?

Park models are factory built cabins designed for recreational camping and/or seasonal living quarters.

2. Why are they classified Recreational Vehicles?

Park models are built to and certified by the manufacturer to conform to the building standard ANSIA119.5.

3. Why a park model?

While park models are movable resort homes, they are not self-contained and must be connected to utilities. This suits them very well for a destination type RV.

4. Can I put my park model on private property?

Local zoning controls this but park models are best suited for upscale RV parks at destination resorts.

5. What is included in the price at Hickory Star?

Hickory Star has priced a turn-key unit. This means the unit is ready to move into and includes the lakeside deck, all delivery and set-up costs, all appliances, AC and heat and sales tax.

6. How long is the warranty?

You have a one-year warranty.

7. Are loft models available?

Yes, this is an option included in all our models.

8. Can I special order a park model?

Yes, but Hickory Star has architectural standards and strict spacing requirements. Any special ordered cabin must be coordinated with Hickory Star.

9. How long does it take if I order a park model?

Hickory Star has park models available for immediate occupancy. If you desire to order a custom unit, the lead time is around six months depending on factory schedule.
